Hi Guys,
I have brought a second KJ 2006 Liberty 2.8 CRD Auto
This one has an annoying problem, as you pull up at the lights the engine stalls,
It is as if it still wants to drive forward but because I am applying the brake it stalls the engine.
Has anyone had this problem, and what causes it ?

Yes, several have observed this same issue. First thing to try is to add an extra quart of ATF+4 and see if that helps. The transmission dip stick is to long and hits the bottom of the transmission pan giving a false reading when it shows normal level. Some of us actually run ours with either 1 or 2 quarts extra to ensure fullness. This is a big transmission and can handle the extra fluid. If the extra fluid does not solve the problem, then the problem is most likely a sticking plunger in the front pump assembly (they are known for this). If that is the case, then you will have to find a good transmission shop and get them to replace the front pump assembly with the newer updated version....
good luck, and let us know how it comes out...

put your battery on a trickle charger for a few hours and see if it still does it, kj's will knock off frequently with weak batteries, usually they'll stop doing it for a day or two if you get the battery a good charge as a troubleshoot
