Yesterday I took my Liberty Sport out for a little spin on the pavement, not on a trail. I guess it's been a long long long time since I last drove it because I found it parked in 4WD. That was probably when my driveway was covered in snow.

Because it's been parked for so long I'm expecting the disc brake calibers to seize, the rotors look pretty bad, I might have to replace them too. Time for some Jeep TLC.
Now that the warmer weather is here I can crawl under the hood.
The plugs need replacement and maybe the engine oil.

So, do you guys recommend anything else I should be looking for in the way of maintenance for a Jeep that's been parked for a long while?
Like maybe checking the air filter for squirrel nests?

I would definitely change the engine oil and filter. Did you put fuel stabilizer in it before you stored it? If not, see if you can pump out the old fuel or at least but some water remover in the tank. I would check the tire pressure, check the wear on the serpentine belt, maybe do a Seafoam treatment.

It hasn't sat for the entire winter, only for maybe a month.
But doing some routine maintenance would be a good idea.
Change the oil & filter, examine the air filter.
I've been meaning to replace the spark plugs for a long long time now.
And there's an intermittent problem with an O2 sensor.
Are they difficult to replace? I've had them replaced before while under warranty.

I haven't had to replace the O2 sensor yet, but I believe there are 4 of them. There might be a engine code to tell you which one is bad. Otherwise, its probably a simple process. Your local auto parts store can most likely lent you a O2 sensor wrench or you can use a open ended wrench.

Here is a video on YouTube that I found to help:

Thanks jeepkj02

I believe the error code to be intermittent, maybe P0157?
I'll check it when I get home tomorrow.

How's the jeep now and what else did you replace? Looking for some good info as a close buddy is trying to resurrecting his 2004 Libby which been sitting since last winter. He also got that code.
