After our kj's altenator decided to chuck a hissy on the road and cost 1k upfront to replace (that's what you have to pay here in aus if you need your kj fixed asap)thought ' i could buy a whole car for that price' so.... i did! And here it is. An 07 kj diesel. Repairable write off from the insurance auctions, damage details were 'mechanical damage, engine/gearbox requires mechanical attention ' so after trucking it across 2 states i now have to decide what to do with it. Do i try and get it going or just keep it for spares? It literally is a bucket of bolts, it's done 220xxx klms. As per the pics it's in bits. The evident mechanical damage is a broken lifter. Is it worth while to replace the lifter and bolt it back together and hope for the best or.....????
