Hey guys new to the forum so just wanna say thank you in advance for any help and input. I have a 2004 liberty 3.7L 4x4 with 5 speed manual transmission. Does anyone know how to replace the bushing/mount for the transmission/transfercase ? I found the part it is just 3 bolts on the bottom mounting to the crossmemeber and one bolt that holds to the transfercase. Can't find any instructions online though

Not sure if my 6 speed manual has the same mount? Its easily replaced just make sure you support the rear of the transmission/transfer box before removing the cross member. You probably could follow the auto transmission version in the FSM. Principle the same operation.
Some one with the 2.5export CRD may chime in , as all fitted with the 5 speed.

Thanks buddy appreciate the reply , so I do have to remove the crossmember ? I was hoping I could just undo the 3 bolts holding the mount to the crossmember from underneath than slightly lift/hold the trans with a jack and piece of wood while I removed the middle bolt holding the mount to the trans. From there slip the old one out and slide new one in? Sounded too easy to me though lol. Might just take it to the shop across town .. 120$ canadian for the mount and 70$ for an hour labour is what they quoted me. But if they can do it in one hour , I figured it might be as easy as I thought. Just want to get someone's input before I remove the bolts and than am ****ed

I found it easier gaining access to the bolts attaching the mount to the transmission by first removing the cross member. But the mount on yours maybe of a different design. The four bolts holding the cross member on mine came out easily but if yours a rusted in tight than I would guess if you can gain enough space to remove the mount with out, than that's an alternative.

Sorry been a while had to take care of some family things. Could you do me a favour before I drop 125$ on the mount... Go under your jeep grab rear driveshsft and tell me how much movement the bushing has if any . Mine u can move transcase about half inch or so. Thanks Blair

Bump before I buy the mount tomorrow ... Can anyone tell me how much movement is normal in the transmission mounts ? Doesn't appear to be torn but I can grab my rear driveshaft and move the transcase about half inch side to side and a little over quarter inch up and down. Trying to track down a vibration around 60mph. Mainly felt in the center console and my butt
If anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be by all means chirp in. The vib starts at like 60mph gone at 65-70mph lol. Already replaced rear u joints and had shaft balanced. The front shaft had a torn boot so I replaced the cv joint didn't help at all. I'm wondering if my front shaft is no longer balanced due to the new boot ? I also read a forum on here about the front cv axles causing vibrations. If someone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Not a fan of throwing parts at it for no reason and I'm new to the whole jeep scene. Used to working on fwd vehicles that are much easier to track down vibes in.
