2006 CRD KJ with 4" JBA struts and control arms. I have been rubbing on the left side, and I noticed I had a good bit of rake front to rear, so I decided to adjust the strut height in the front. The vehicle has been sitting on the lift for about six months in my garage, but I have only been driving it for a few weeks. I originally set my struts so that 1.25" of threads were exposed. I measured my front axle to fender flare to be at 22" left, 23" right, and 24" rear. I am going to set left and right equal, but that will mean that the amount of threads on the left strut has 1" more exposed than the right. Anyone have any experience with this? I'll ring JBA in the morning, but I figured there might be some wisdom here.

One at 4.5 and one at 2.5? Is that inches of thread exposed on the strut on two different vehicles?

Oh, I think I get it. One vehicle lifted to 4.5" on at 2.5" struts at same position on both sides of each vehicle?

Yes the 4.5 inch on the 04 and 2.5 inch on the 03 , both sides are the same on the 03 and then both the same on the 04 ( well just maybe an extra 1/2 round or so on the drivers side on each

The mechanic that installed the lift on my 3.7 Liberty got a CRD for lift in his shop a week after. While doing this he called me asking whether the factory front springs on my truck were the same length.

He claimed that the factory springs on the CRD liberty had 3cm. (1 1/5'') length difference. It wasn't that one of the springs was sagged or something he said. The length of the steel rod the springs were made of was different. Also the CRD libby front was flush with these springs on.

So now that you bring this up, too I am starting to think there is a chance the CRD Libbies come that way out of the factory and that's why you have to set up the struts differently on both sides.

On my SFA KJ I run JKS ACOS Pro's(google) in the front which offer the same adjustability I have almost zero threads showing on 1 side and almost max threads showing on the other.

We measured from like 10 different points side to side and all are exactly the same, even swapped coils side to side but didn't make any difference.Same thing on my buddies KJ that we SFA'd.

It's a Jeep thing and also remember the left side(drivers side) is much heavier then the right side.

I didnt put my OME springs side by side but i am within 1/4" side to side in the front. Are your coil over mounts(in the engine bay) bent or anything? There was a guy over on the Legacy GT forums who bought a legacy off some lady that had hit something so hard that the strut pushed the mounting point up and bent it.
