Hello all, I am about to change the origional glow plugs in my 2006 kj. My question is , are all the aftermarket plugs available now metal or are the ceramic tip style still around. When I have asked online sellers which one they sell they don't seem to know what they sell.. thanks, Peter |

Go to IDparts.com They have the Etecno 7 volt metal plugs and the Bosch 5 volt metal plugs. Ceramic plugs are no longer available. |

Yes only metal tip are being sold now. IDparts.com is the best source for that. you can get either the 7v or 5v, the Bosch 5v I was told are considered a little better in reliability. but you will need a new relay and computer flash to use them since the origanal system is 7 volt. If you have a GDE tune and still have the programmer box that's an easy fix as you can get a tune update for like $50 so that you will have your tune with the software for 5 volt plugs. if you dont have a GDE tune, and dont want to go to the dealer for a software update id get the 7 volt as those are a direct bolt in replacement. |
