So I know I purchased my project 3.7 Liberty back in April this year but it is the first time I've had the chance to check out the issues

Starts on the button but has a mis-fire, no mechanical knocks

Ignition key cycle 3 times tells me P0351 and P0352. Already fitted new coil packs and plugs, no change

Use my noid lights to check ignition signal and both cylinders 1 an 2 have spark so figure working well

Motor was running for about 10 mins and was nicely up to normal operating temperature when I noticed an eruption of water in the header tank. Motor still not running hot, just normal on the gauge

More water on garage floor than left in Liberty!!

Obviously I have a pressurised cooling system!! And when the thermostat opens, whoosh......

I can see the oily sheen on the water on the garage floor and switch off motor

Now gained an additional code, P0353!!!!

Figure it's time for some head gaskets

Have the heads pressure checked while they are off. No point putting a hairline cracked head back on.

Will definitely be doing that, this will be the second time for the heads to be off, I suspect the previous owner did not bother.

Job will be done properly this time

It's surprising how many people don't bother with that!

The saga continues!

Both heads skimmed and refitted but one head would not seal up

Head off again and back to be checked

Hopefully will be ok second time around
