Hello Fellow Lost Jeep Folks,
I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L Sport that is throwing out some check engine lights. I'm just looking for some advice on where to go with it? I have a CEN-TECH 98614 scanner and have seen that the codes are:

1) P0306 - Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
2) P0700 - Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

I can tell you that if you put about 1800 RPM's on my jeep and are at about the 30-35mph range that you'll notice a slight jerking for about a second, after that....not a problem. The jerking can be described as maybe going over a rough patch of road, which is what I thought it was at first, but later noticed the pattern.

What do you guys think? I'll also notice that the Jeep will turn the check engine lights off, but found out from the Dealerships mechanic that after three successful tests that the Jeep will kill that light. (So for now....seems to be intermittent).

A bit of history on it. I bought it in 2008 with about 44,000 miles on it. I've been good to it and servicing via the intervals set by the manufacturer. It now has about 140,000 miles on it. I JUST had the transmission serviced. (But the Check Engine lights were lighting up and going out before then)

Thanks for any advice given.

unplug, unbolt and move cyl 6's coil pack to , say Cyl 1's coil pack and see if the code follows it to Cyl 1 if it does, replace the coil pack

as for P700 , thats a generic fault code saying that the TCM asked the PCM to turn on the MIL light , so there should(usually) be a code specific as to why

that particular scanner may not be able to get the more specific code, try a different scanner or the ignition switch (off->on > off, on > off, on>off > on but dont start it and the P codes should come up on the odometer
