Hi,

I have installed the JBA 4' Y link on the back on my KJ and I am loving it. Very happy with it once I finally got it set up and managed to tighten the bold properly to the frame (it's a pig of a job!!).

The problem I had before with Y Link Extension have now gone, so to hitting the exhaust with the rear drive shaft.

Now though I have another problem, the joint creek !!! not sure why but they do. All is tight but when I go slow the rose joints creek !!!!!. At speed nothing but as soon as I go slow, say under 30 mph you can hear them. On the ground we have twisted the arms and you can hear the creek. Any suggestion how I can get them to spot doing that? It's been on now for over 2000 miles and didn't do it before.

My rear is now all JBA 4" coils & Bildstein 4"

Fil.

I don't know who makes those ends that come with the kit but the high quality ones have a special teflon coating to prevent noise but does wear off after some time.I know alot of people running those types of joints and yes they do make noise when the cheaper ones are used and even the good ones start making noise after some time also.

Don't use any type of lube on them as that will make them wear faster. That is just a bad spot to use those types of joints since they constantly are getting sprayed by debris.

Tjkj2002,

Is there any solution or way to make them go quieter? I bought the cromoloy ones hoping they would be better and last longer !!! I have also seen that it's also no longer available the 4 Link on JBA ?!

So does it look like I have to put up with the noise then?

Like I said I do not know what brand they used for there heim joints and once they make noise that is it there is no stopping it till you replace them.

The best heims out there are FK (fkrodends.com),highly recommended by all on Pirate forum and what my Currie AntiRock came with and zero noise over 30,000+ miles and 6+ years.

Thank you, I will first have a world with JBA and then start looking into getting some of those you have recommended as I like the set up but really don't want to put up with the noise.

So you are only running OME springs and an extra rear ISO and needed the 4 link? I am getting driveline noise now with my lift and am wondering if the rear U-joints are on there way out again and if I should do either the Y-link extension or 4 link

Actually I am now running a full 4" rear suspension from JBA , so 4" coils & Bildstein 4" shocks. Before I ran the set up in my signature so OME 948 + 2 top isolators and OME L132 plus JBA Y Link. The vibration you have is most possibly due to bad U joints in rear prop. It's hard to say if you can't hear/feel it.
The reason for the 4" Link was to eliminate another problem and it's done that.
As per usual with my Jeep it's now stopped creeking without me doing anything to it!!!
Got to love Jeeps!!!

I had the rear U joint fail once already and it was before I installed the lift. I have JBA 2.5" springs in the rear + the extra Iso now to get it level with the front. I could actually use a 2nd extra Iso because it sags a bit when my bike rack is installed in the summer. Right now it sits pretty much dead level without the rack.

Did you upgrade CV's with that much lift?

Yes I got aftermarket one with greasable nipples, it does help the drive line stay more smooth and the longevity of the CV joint on the rear prop shaft. As for the front, the wheel bearings get replaced every 15 to 20K miles as they go and I can't afford to buy Timken ones being outside of the US.
