What a awesome site I found here. Cant believe it took me this long to find it....;(

Heres my first problem I could really use all your help with.

2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7L V6

Bought a Power Stop Z23 kit(front) rotors, pads.

I cannot get the new pads into the OEM caliper bracket guides easily, is this normal? I tries using the OEM shims already in place and the ones supplied with the kit, I was able to get the one side in, but its so tight, I doubt it will work. Is this normal? Should I be filing down the pad (ears) to fit in better and if so, how loose or tight should they be in the bracket guides?

Problem #2....
Both side caliper guide bolts(pins) are not moving easily, and one of them seems to be bent a little, should I just replace all the guide bolts?

How rusted are your caliper brackets? My old Subaru was way rusted and I had the same problem. New brackets are pretty cheap and if the pins are not moving well you might be able to clean them up and re lube them. But new pins are about $12 from Advance auto per caliper. New Caliper with bracket is $53 for the front http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/wear ... 7CL2*16461.

They arent that bad....I assume I will have to grind or clean them up a bit, I did just order all new pins from rockauto.com, so maybe that will help...I am just surprised at how much these new pads from Power Stop, and what I paid for them, how not even close they are to fitting....that is unless I am doing something way wrong lol

Also Welcome to Lost.. I m new
too and there is lots of info here and helpful people. I'm no brake expert but have changed a few... wait I fix trailer brakes all the time lol. I guess compare the old pads to the new. If the old pads fit maybe the new ones are just a tad bigger.

It kinda depends of how much Pedro had to drink the night before or if his younger brother Yong Lee(from halfway around the world) skipped 1st grade to earn $5 a years making brake pads.
