We took our 2004 Liberty to the local Jeep dealer when the dome lights were out, the door locks and FOB wouldn't work, and the radio wouldn't work. This all happened suddenly and with no warning. The dealer said several fuses were blown and the Body Control Module had failed and quoted $700 + installation for a new module. They then called back telling me the BCM wasn't available any longer and quoted a lesser price for a junk yard module replacement. With fuses replaced and the 'new' BCM installed, everything worked but the speedometer so they went the junk yard route and obtained another BCM. They called to let us know after installing the second BCM that everything was working great and we could pick the car up.

As it turns out, everything DID work fine for the trip home but when my daughter went to the store this evening, she heard a 'crack' in the speakers just before the radio went out. When she got home, the FOB and door locks wouldn't work again either. Presumably fuses or the BCM failed again.

For those with BCM experience, does this sound like something that would happen as a result of a BCM failing?

Appreciate hearing from others with BCM experiences on a Jeep.

TIA
