Post subject:  KJ Liberty Diesel OIL Tank Failure
MY Oil Tank Bolt has failed the on the current Oil Sump for engine bolt. I have never seen details of how to replace the drainage and where to get some suitable. I would love anyone who can help me in ANY way at all. I don't want to replace the whole tank!!

im guessing your talking about the sump pan drain plug. Helicoil or drill and thread next size up. A good machine/mechanic shop can do it without removing the pan.

Interesting.. MY 2005 Diesel is leaking out of the Oil tank around the Bolt. Looks like Policy is to replace the bolt with the FUMOTO sysytem. Surely must be a larger size than FUMOTO are suggesting as standard, since that would be for an unworn hole in the System?? Can anyone suggest the best size Fumoto to use if your Original hole is loose with the standard system??

Thank you so much..... I see you are in GB?? I am English....... living in Australia for 15 years now. In Australia, all mechanics are on summer holiday. My Mechanic who is on holiday has asked me to get the bits and he will fit them as soon as he comes back to work on Jan 26th....... but he did not state size. Current bolt is leaking quite a bit out of the sump now, so I assume bigger, but not sure what size?....... you got any idea??

I should have emigrated to Australia, vacation until Jan 26th. If you are not doing the job yourself leave it to the mechanic to obtain the parts.

Mine I bought thread repair kit at local Autozone. It has solid repair inserts. Changed thread to standard spark plug size when done. Thread size of spark plugs is 14mm by 1.25. No drilling, tap in kit I ran into old hole with grease on threads. Then flushed with oil thru from on top of engine. Clean tapped threads with solvent before installing insert. Coating outside of insert with permatex #2. Insert sets to outside of hole with included tool. Parts cost me about 20 dollars including a new drain plug in 14mm.
