It's been a long winter here and I'm getting a little stir crazy, so i'm looking for a new project. I have a 2006 CRD with ABS/ESP and am looking to build a rear axle. So my question is are there any major differences to to the KJ liberty axles besides the 1 vs. 2 channel abs systems that would prevent me from using an older KJ axle?

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking to put an older KJ axle into your 06' CRD? Are you doing something custom or are you rebuilding the inner axles?

As far as I know they are all 8.25 rear ends and the axles are all the same. Are you looking to put a wider axle in it?

The plan would be to re-build, re-gear, and add locker with the axle on my bench, to minimize down time on the Jeep.

Hmm, I'm sure someone will tell you for certain, the pre 05's have a single sensor in the dif, but I imagine that you can easily plug the hole. I have the opposite problem, I want to build up my spare 06 axle with a locker, but there's no port for the sensor on my 05
