Folks, howdy,

I have an 05 Liberty and the brake lights are out. The high center one works. I have replaced the bulbs, the fuse, the socket, and even replaced the switch out of desperation. I have not checked the voltage because I still have blinkers and driving lights, that leads me to believe the canon plug is getting voltage.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE -

So, I pulled out the volt meter and did some testing. I have voltage at the canon plug going to the light assembly. However, Once I plug the canon plug back in, I do not have voltage at the socket. I tested against a few different ground spots on the vehicle and still nothing. This is happening on both sides. Looking at the light socket, they are burnt. What is the chance I have melted/shorted the socket from heat since both sides are crispy and have the same symptoms?

This is driving me insane

Again, any help is welcome.

Seems like you have found the problem.

Nope, the symptoms have changed.

I now have both brake lights, only one tail light, and no dash lights when the headlights are on. I have checked everything I can get too and nothing looks bad or worn. I am so frustrated.

That would be a fuse, most likely.

If only I could be so lucky. All of my fuses, I checked the all, are good. I don't get it.
