Hi all. I have a small crack on the driver side top on the radiator on my 2006 KJ. So far its fairly slow and for the last couple days I've just been topping off the reservoir with water. Obviously not a permanent solution so I've been searching for a replacement radiator. The caveat here is I just bought a condo about a month and a half ago so money has been fairly tight with repairs and furniture and whatnot. The main auto parts stores in my area are Pep Boys and Advance (Pep Boys has a limited lifetime warranty). I searched there and found a couple radiators in the $140 range. Though, from what I understand is they aren't exactly OEM and these radiators generally don't have the mounts for the transmission cooler, which I have. I found a Mopar dealer that sells one for 170ish, plus 50 for shipping. I guess my question is, does anyone have experience with these radiators from the auto parts stores? Or should I just bite the bullet and go with Mopar? I just don't want to spend over 200 on a radiator and have to replace it again in a year or so. Though, my Jeep has 160k miles on it and it's just cracking now. |
