Hello,

The bushings on my rear upper control arm are worn and cracked. The ball joint seems to be OK. I will replace the entire arm.

Can anyone suggest an aftermarket rear upper control arm to use.

The best prices found are on Rock Auto. Below are the brands.

MOOG $96.79
Mevotech $87.70
Ultra-Power $68.79
Dorman $70.79
MAS $80.70
ACDELCO $123.79

Thanks for the help!

the aftermarket rear UCAs seem to last less than 1/3rd the time the mopar units last. depending on which bushings the MOOG arms have they may be the best bet but the mopar ones seem to last the longest

imo, youre better off pressing in new bushings that aren't garbage, costs about 50 bucks to replace the bushings and balljoint with high quality hardware

None of the above
At one time MOPAR ones were backordered , so I went cheaper still was 165 bucks, went through two of them in less than 6 months time.
Total junk

Moog and Dorman's bushings are both offshore garbage. I don't know if the Mopar ones are any better.

The bushings last best when they aren't subjected to angle at their normal ride height.

EDIT: Its challenging to replace bushing on a used/rusted arm without damaging it. As careful as I was, the 2ndtime replacing mine, I had to tack-weld the bushings in because the holes had stretched.

for a while there was a split on Mopar street versions vs heavy duty

the heavy duty was the original

Funny, I had the same issue when I tried to replace the bushings on the OEM boomerang. Had to tack weld them in place just like you did till I could get a whole replacement arm shipped in!
Replaced it with a Moog unit, and so far it has held up OK and I hope it continous to do so. I do hear those forward mounts where the boomerang mount to the body every once in a while when the transmission upshifts or downshifts between gears!
IF it fails again, I would certainly consider upgrading to the WJ Adjustable A-Arm. And yes, I realize it would require making a new HD mounting bracket to fit the KJ differential.

Looks like I may have to settle for one of the aftermarket ones, probably MOOG. I did some research and the MOPAR originals are over $400+ USD!
