My Daughters 2002 Jeep Libertys key fob recently stopped working. It will sometimes work if you are right next to the vehicle. I've replaced the battery in both fobs and still no change. It can be unlocked with the key but then the alarm sounds and everyone stares at her. lol. I'm thinking possibly its the receiver on the Liberty itself? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Chad |

Sounds like you don't have a second one to verify? First thing I would do is buy a second one on eBay and see if it has the same problem (always good to have 2 sets of keys and fobs). You can get them for less than $11 (I bought ours from keylessentryremote and was happy with the product and service) and as long as you can get the current one to work you can program it (you need to program both at the same time).
