I made a big mistake. I adjusted the rear door support near the latch a little too tight. Now the rear door is closed and won't re-open. Anybody have any helpful ideas?

I have already watched some YouTube videos about non-opening Liberty rear doors but none are helping. I have reached inside the rear door and can switch the white lock toggle near the door handle mechanism, but that does not help.

It seems like the latch is latched too tight so the electric motor cannot pull the plunger back out anymore. This door is one that already would only open part of the time. Maybe that is why is was left loose.

The good news is the rear door no longer rattles.

Dean.

After studying several YouTube videos, I finally got the rear swing gate open. It was merely stuck from a maladjusted door stop. To open the gate, I held the white toggle up with my finger tip, held the door handle up as to open the door, and hurled myself against the door. :banghead: On the second hurling the door popped open.

Readjusted the door stop and cut a piece of 1/2" heater hose to wedge under the white toggle. It will never lock anymore, but it will certainly open. I'll find out on my next trip if the door rattles again.

Dean.
