Oy Vey!
Went to the Credit Union today and they said they can only send US Dollars, and cannot guarantee the money will arrive as needed. But the $80 charge is non-refundable. They suggest I go to Wal-Mart Money Transfer Service and use my Visa to get a cash advance there to process the funds. Cash advance!?!, I said. So I withdrew $1500 and went to Wal-Mart. They use Ria and MoneyGram.
I have refused to shop at Wal-Mart for over 10 years because they pay women less than men, their wages are low, and the government subsidizes them because their employees qualify for welfare and food stamps. But I went anyway.
The lady at the Money Transfer counter started a transfer but stopped saying the information she needs does not match her computer screen entry areas. So I stepped aside and called Ria customer service. Only two options 1) Find a Ria location. 2) Check status of an existing transaction.
So I called MoneyGram, and talked to a person. They agreed to speak with the counter lady. Got back in line and eventually spoke with the same counter person. Called back and handed her the phone and MoneyGram walked her through the process. Still can’t – the information is not correct. (I think the manager lady I got simply did not want to be at work that day) She suggested I go to Western Union.
It’s 6 PM now, they’re closed.
Dean.

Chloe,
I give up. Tomorrow I will go to the Credit Union and transfer the funds to NatWest Bank. Sorry to have taken so long, but this has dragged out way too long.
I’ll let you know when it goes through. You should see my email and be able to verify the deposit Monday morning.
Thanks for your patience.

There is no other way of doing it without any bank charges. We could do card but we cannot take card payments over £500 also we then loss around another £60.00 so it is no better.
Thanks

Chloe,
Called the smart people in the bank to wire the money today and was blindsided with the cost ($80 USD/£59 BP) for an hour of “wire time” at my end – plus an unknown amount of charges at the receiving end.
Are there some alternative methods? Can I split the invoice into 3 and use a credit card for 3 transactions? Can I get a Cashiers’ Check and mail it to VMDS? Any other methods? PayPal or other Internet payment service? If I have to pay any premiums, I would prefer to give them to VMDS instead of a bank or money transfer service.
I will attempt to set up my phone to make Internet IP (VOIP) calls. If successful, I will contact you around 9 AM British time. If not successful, I will send an email.

Hi,
Sorry the invoice i attached yesterday for for another customer. I have attached the original invoice again and added a set of head bolts to it and extra shipping costs, so it is a lot easier.
The street address of the NatWest bank is: 5 Market Place, Chesterfield, S40 1TW.
Let me know if the bank transfer goes through.
Thanks

Chloe,
I am very sorry to announce that the Idiocracy has hit Hawaii. Today I attempted to transfer the funds to VMDS but the Customer Support lady insisted I provide the physical address of the bank. Certainly this person only knows enough to fill out the blanks on the paper.
Tomorrow I will make another attempt. Please provide the street address.
I would like to offer a huge apology to the world for the idiocy of American workers. It is even worse in Hawaii than mainland USA.
I was planning to send the entire amount on the original invoice; is that okay? If not, can I pay the additional £75.96 via credit card?

Hi,
The only slow option postage we can offer is up to 2 kilos and all the below mentioned parts will weigh more so it will have to be sent by DHL.
The valve guides are £22.40 each. We have as new valve guides removed from low mileage cylinder heads and we can supply x2 for £15.00 and postage will be £14.50 this is for a signed and trackable service. If you would like to order these immediately then please phone the office with your card details. There will be a 3.4% charge on top of the bill to cover card charges.
cylinder sleeve- £44.20
seal and shims kit for cylinder sleeve- £13.33 each x4
1 complete engine gasket set- £156.00.
Front oil seal is £7.70
Rear oil seal is £31.99
Con rod bearing are £9.72 each x4.
Little end bushes are £7.33 each x4
Oil pump- currently not in stock checking on availability with the factory.
Postage will be a little more expensive due to the weight of the items.
Thanks
Chloe.

Thanks Chloe,
The slower postage will be fine, but I’ll be adding some more parts.
The head is being worked on locally, I need 2 intake valve guides. Can you send those immediately? Do you have a payment process on the website?
Please add the following items to the (1) piston & (3) rings order...
Complete gasket set, plus front and rear main seals.
Bearings (Rod main (4), and wrist pin bushings(4). I am not changing the crank main journal bearings)
Oil pump.
Cylinder sleeve (1) to match the above piston & rings.
Cylinder sleeve shims and o-rings (4).
Thanks.

Hi,
The new pistons will come with new rings fitted so you will only need another x3 sets of rings.
The piston is £173.00.
Piston ring sets are £35.40 each x3.
Postage via DHL will be £55.00 and this will usually take around 2 days to arrive. Or postage via Royal Mail on much slower service will be £29.50.
Thanks
Chloe.

Chloe,
Thanks for catching my error.
Measured my top ring, it is 0.012” (2.8mm), and to my surprise it is a Stepped Keystone ring. I would hope to get one new piston with 2.8mm top ring groove, and a complete set of rings for all four pistons.
I have questions about other parts too, but I’d like to get this subject settled first.

Hi,
I am a little confused because i thought the top ring measured 2.8mm and not 3.175mm. We have piston rings kits that have 2.2mm,2.4mm and 2.8mm top rings.
The above measurements are measuring the height or thickness of the piston ring in a vertical plane as the ring is fitted into the piston. Please can you re-check the measurements because the 2.8mm is the thickest one that VM make.
The price of the injector is £238.00.
Thanks
Chloe.

Happy New Year VM Diesel Specialists,
I am anxiously awaiting your return to work in hopes of buying parts to get my 2.8L purring again. The poor mechanized beast has suffered a glug of water that destroyed cylinder #3.
To get the lower end fixed, I need to replace #3 sleeve, piston, rings, rod, and (injector B445117354-01 or 0445110 217).
My first quest is to find out if I can get only one piston (with 0.125” / 3.175 mm top ring), or if I need to purchase a pair of pistons (with 0.095” / 2.413 mm) top rings. My piston weight(?) is marked as 49.04 and 2091F on all pistons.
After that decision, I then need a full set of gaskets & seals, and bearings, and front and rear main seals.
Please see attached .PDF, but I can send Windows Excel file.
