| Post subject: | New Guy - Glow Plug Code |
I recently picked up a 2006 Liberty CRD and also own a 2007 gas version. The CRD is in great shape and Im working out some bugs. I had a # 3 glow plug fault code. I replaced them all yesterday with new ones with the same voltage. Now its throwing a 0683 code for Glow Plugs. Im on the hunt for some tips or what the most obvious is. The Jeep did come with a Green Diesel ECM and TCM mod with EGR delete, not that makes any difference but it sure is a fun snotty little unit. Thanks Dan |

Check the resistance of the glow plug again. If it has ever been dropped on its way to you, it may be faulty. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk |

I tried a new glow plug module and that didnt help. This weekend the weather was nice enough that I put a new glow plug harness in. While I was in there I put on Ohm meter on each plug and they all were around 1.1 - 1.5. I used my scan tool to reset the computer but the code came back right away. Frustrated I drove it on a couple small errands that evening, but the next morning when I started it, the check engine went out and hasnt come back. Uh ok...whatever. |

Huh, I'm still working on P0672 #2 glow plug CEL as well. I've swapped the GP Relay, tested the resistance on the GP (1.1ohm), tested the PWM signal on the harness end to GP #2 and all is well. So the GP may be "broken lite" per WolverineFW in that it sorta works sometimes. Seems the CEL light stays off longer after reset sometimes ?? Also I see the PWM signal stays on to the GPs most likely until warm up like my dodge 5.9ltr. |

Some of the codes will get reset only after a few Run/Stop runs after you have fixed the problem so that is probably what happened. |
