Very true. You have to pull those out to access the carrier bearing adjusters anyway.
In the front diff, its a good time to do the same bearings and seals. Also replace the intermediate shaft if the splines are worn.
I don't really have a shop yet. The first one I tried was quoting me $2000 just in parts to do 4.10's and a rear truetrac/open stock front diff. Then they told me they couldn't get a front truetrac for the D30a and offered up a eaton e locker for $3000 in parts. I had to send them the D30 truetrac part number and never heard back.
I priced it out and it seems like I can get everything I need for <$2000. That's master install kit, gears, F/R truetrac and fluid.
