Ive tried the search function and come up short. My Jeep is low power and has a code of 090. Is there a part to replace the coincides with this code? Thanks |

That is more like it. So now a diagnosis will be needed.Google is not a source for any reliable testing and my resources are at work,sorry. You never replace parts by a codes definition alone without testing. |

start at the FQSolenoid (behind and below the alternator location) and make sure the connector is on and clipped tight. If that doesn't fix, pin check for continuity. If there is no continuity, look for breaks in the factory wiring. Trouble spots are: The spot where the 2 wire harness breaks away from the main harness. (about 8" away) The spot where the main harness comes past the alternator and up over the valve cover. Look for vibration damage that exposed bare wire and broke through. The spot where the main harness goes behind the fuel filter mounting bracket. These are known trouble spoits in the factory wiring. |

Tonight I will be digging under the hood. The Jeep is in limp mode. It was intermittent for several days, Id have fullpower then not. Now its hard break so I can look at wiring and the sensor. Looks like a 295 $ part on IDparts. thanks for the feedback everyone! |

I had a problem with my fuel quantity solenoid. Turned out to be a intermittent loose connection at the connector. Spliced in a new connector and everything has been good since. |

Definitely make sure the wiring and connectors are good and properly connected before buying a new FQS If the wiring/connectors fail (disconnect) with the FQS, It fails valve fully open all the time, so the CRD will run, but not well. There are a half dozen or so various codes that could be thrown due to overfueling. If you need to replace the FQS, don't search by name, as they are called many things. Search by part number. I guess I have some more digging to do to look at the wiring. I was under the assumption that the p0090 code called out the solenoid that is on the back end of the fuel rail. All the wiring on the components that are plugged into the fuel rail look fine. https://www.idparts.com/fuel-rail-press ... -6240.html That would be the FPS (Fuel Pressure Solenoid) FQS (Fuel Quantity Solenoid) varies quantity of fuel entering the pump/common rail, as commanded by the ECM (Located at the back end of the high pressure pump) FPS (Fuel Pressure Solenoid) bleeds off excess volume/pressure of fuel, as commanded by the ECM (located at the back end of the rail) "Open circuit" means the electrical connection between the ECM and the specified Solenoid, is 'open' (has no continuity,) therefore the ECM has no control. A wire is broken, or pulled loose, or connector has come off, or the solenoid it's self has burned out (very unlikely). |

Tonight I dug around behind the fuel pump underneath the alternator. I visually looked at the wire loom before I checked the connector. I wasn't expecting what I found. The connector fell off the contacts. It seems the connector was damaged previously to me. On further inspection it looks as it superglue was used on it to try to keep it connected to the FQS. I pushed it forward for now and did a test drive around the block. Back to full power. Ill look at the best way to repair the connector. |
