Post subject:  Fumoto Oil Drain Valve on CRD

Hi , I have a UK spec Cherokee KJ (Liberty) 2.5 CRD and I am about to carry out an oil change. I have seen a fair amount of praise for the Fumoto plugs, so I have got my self the F-102 which according to the site should fit my Jeep.
My question is am I ok to use the blue gasket that it has come with or should I source one of the Brass/copper ( not sure what they are made of) ones from the dealer?

Many thanks for your views on this.

The one supplied with the Fumoto should be fine. But if the new valve is tightened properly and the gasket still ends up leaking a bit, maybe swap it out for the copper style at the next oil change.

That blue gasket works very well IMHO. I have a Touareg TDI where some how before I owned it, someone put a small dent right in the area were the copper gasket should seal. Copper gasket would leak without Permatex applied to it. Not one drop leaked out after putting in the Fumoto and the blue gasket.
