Hello,

Got a big spare and it doesn't let the glass hatch clear. Is there an easy fix like clocking (rotating) the mount or something?

Also, those non US tire holders look cool. Has anyone swapped for one? Do they offer any benefit (like holding a bigger tire better)?

This might work:

A lot of people flip it over for more clearance

I have the non-US tyre holder and a 245/70/16 spare, and the glass is almost touching the tyre on open/close. So, it won't help.

245/75/16 AT and glass clears just fine. :D
I think I did rotate the mount long ago? :?

Put a few washers on the studs before the wheel/tire. Moving it out about 6mm will allow considerably more space for the window arc.

Good thinking. I will try that first. I need to maintain access to the rear hitch for towing.

I have 265/70/17s and my glass won't close even with washers on the studs. I need to pick up a space like the one posted above.

I put washers only on the top so that it was tilted. It worked great.
