Sounds likely. How much did you refill with?

Or a problem with the filter and sucking air instead of ATF.

I know it's nit the filter bc that bad boy was seated well.
It starts then I can go maybe 50 feet and rpms shoot up to 4k. I'm thinking fluids are low too from my research.

What gasket are you using?

Some will say that you should ditch that gasket and just use RTV.
Myself, I prefer to use the gasket.
But if you overtighten the pan, the gasket will split and start to leak.

In my many years of mechanicing, the absolute very best gaskets I have ever come across or used for transmission pans and differential covers!
LubLocker Gaskets.

For the Jeep JK 545RFE
LubeLocker Transmission Gasket LUB-LLT-CRFE

Requires no additional sealer as the silicone is built into the gasket.
Both mating surfaces MUST be clean.
Very important not to overtorque the mounting bolts because if you do, it can cut any gasket used.

Clean both surfaces with https://www.walmart.com/ip/CRC-Gasket-Paint-and-Decal-Remover-12-oz-Net-Weight-16-oz-Aerosol-Can/19281881?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1122&adid=22222222227016756632&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=51750547511&wl4=pla-83116106231&wl5=1024527&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=101593696&wl11=online&wl12=19281881&wl13=&veh=sem Then either use the lubelocker gasket or the special Automatic transmission RTV, so the atf-4 won't eat it's way through https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Chrysler-Accessories-05010664AD-Transmission/dp/B008H2PL9S

Chrysler trans are not machined for a gasket.

Go to dealership and buy there ATF RTV,1 tube will do 2 pans easily and it's not very expensive.

Are you sure the filter is correct and properly fitted? 2WD filter looks pretty similar but is not the same.
