So a few months ago we had some flooding in our local area and a non-running, lifted 03 liberty popped on craigslist that had taken on some water. I was curious, so I went to see it. It ended up having a recently installed - less than 500 miles ago - Rough Country 3" spacer lift - meh - BUT it also had JBA UCA's and brand new LCAs. Ended up not even making the guy an offer, but the airbox in that gasser reminded me of a CRD mod that I had been meaning to do...
Fast forward to last week - my son needed a couple parts from the pull your own salvage yard for his car. We collected what we needed with time to spare, so the search for a KJ V6 airbox was on. First KJ we found had the full airbox intact, sweet. We made the pull and just before stepping away with our prize, it dawned on me, I'd seen this rig before. And sure enough, there they were for the taking, cheap low mile KJ IFS parts!
I returned to the yard a few days later with the right tools and scored 2 each JBA UCAs, OEM LCAs with new looking sway bar links attached, extended front brake lines, and - because I can't resist cheap stuff - the aftermarket rear springs and shocks.
All of the front parts will be useful if I ever decide to upgrade my current cheap lift. Maybe when its time for new tires. What about the rear stuff? Is it absolute junk or worth a try in the future given they will be just sitting in my garage? Is it in any way better, or even possible to stick with my Rancho RS5284s (extended length is 22.05") in the back and just use the springs? All thoughts and ideas are appreciated.
Thanks!
