Easy question: will the skidplates from a 2006 KJ Renegade fit on a 2005 KJ CRD?

I've got a line on a junker Renegade that I think has full skids. Want to grab them, but need to make sure of what will and will not bolt up.

(And yep, I realise that the factory skids aren't the last word in protection. That's OK for how this CRD is being used.)

I would think the frames would be the same. Even if the mounting is a little different, it can be modified to fit.

Frame - yes.
Axle and things that mount to it - No.
The front diff is located much closer to the center, so if anything uses the front end housing mounts, you'll be having to fab something.

Yes, gassers verses diesels are different on the front end housing positions and mounting.

But the front skid plate on my CRD bolts entirely to 4 frame locations, nothing on the housing. But I wonder if the cross member under the engine is different on gassers verses diesels?

He did not specify if the Renegade was a gasser or a diesel?

AFAIK Rennys are all v6gassers.

The CRD should already have a front skid. All he would need to acquire is the transmission and transfer case skids.
I recently installed a mopar transmission skid. It fits all 02-06 Libertys no matter what engine.

D'oh; should have stated. It's a V6 gas.

No fuel tank skids on the Rneegades? I thought they had them.

Good to know the tranny & t-case skids will transfer over, though. Thanks for that.

It might have a fuel tank skid.
There’s only one way to find out.

Took a look at it today. No skids. Board edited out the mild expletive I typed here; use your imagination.

Has the factory rock sliders in reasonably decent shape. After hitting them a couple of times with a ratchet and looking at how they mount, I'll pass. They're probably better than nothing, but there are some things about the design that I just don't care for.

Rear tyres were on the ground, so didn't check for an LSD.

It does have front tow hooks, but I'm debating if the time and effort to pull them is worth it. Leaning towards doing a front hitch anyway, but am not totally opposed to the hooks.

It does have the intake rain deflector in one piece, so I may go snag that. Need one on our KJ and that's been one thing that has been hard to find intact.

Now for the next step

Decided to pass on pretty much everything on it. It can be turned into Chinese refrigerators as far as I'm concerned (and likely will be, given that it's in the junkyard).
