Any issues with AC/Delco ceramic pads on Napa Ultra Premium rotors?

Problem is:
I researched best brakes for KJs a ton and ordered Napa UP rotors and Adaptive One pads. Reserved online, picked up from the store, delivered parts + my KJ to the shop last night.
Mechanic said late afternoon today the front pads Napa gave me were wrong. I checked my order conf, it is accurate. Error must have occurred behind the counter when they pulled them.

So mechanic put AC/Delco pads up front. Without asking me. I told him I want the pads I ordered put on.
He said I'll be charged 2x for install plus cost of the AC/Delco pads that can't be returned because he installed and test drove them. And that "the AC/Delco pads will be fine."

Obviously I am not happy about this. I researched. Purchased and supplied the parts. I shouldn't be charged for parts errors or decisions that weren't mine.

But if I get stuck with GM AC/Delco pads with Napa Ultra Premium rotors, is that a problem?

Thank you.

Honestly, I think you'll be fine with those pads.

I buy really cheap pads for ours and I still find the KJ's braking performance, being 4 wheel disc, exceptional.

Your mechanic must be a jerk; he should have never installed parts without first talking to you and getting your permission to install some alternate parts.
You should have the premium NAPA pads installed by a different shop or yourself and take the Delco pads back and demand a refund since you did not agree to having them installed.
Appears like underhanded tactics? :banghead:

I agree with WWDiesel. Why pay for things you didn't order?

I doubt there is a substantial difference in any aspect of those two brands, but I agree with the principle WWDiesel brings up.
IMO,
If you buy one thing, and that thing can't be delivered for whatever reason, any change would require prior approval before installing, especially if there is a difference in price.

The only exception could be if you have an implied trust relationship with them, such as if they were a sibling or cousin, and you trust that they would act in your best interest.

Now comes what you decide to do about it...

Parts store messed up the order.
You delivered the wrong pads.
Mechanic knew they were wrong, but installed anyway.
If you decide to have the pads changed, I'd say to be fair, it is going to require all parties to acknowledge their responsibilities and contribute to the fix.
Good Luck!

Arguing the principle of things, and taking up the shop's/mechanic's time, are leading causes as to why shop charge-out rates are at all-time highs. Business adapts to ensure profitability or they close up shop :juggle:

IMO, do your own pad/rotor job and you'll be ahead on money, time, and frustration.
