Post subject:  ZJ or TJ coils in Liberty? (rear)

Some of us are probably quite aware of 'front-to-back' coil spring swaps with Wranglers (TJ) and Grand Cherokees (ZJ). Most noteworthy is the TJ swap since the factory rears are very close to KJ specs.

Has anyone attempted a test-fit of ZJ rear coils, or TJ front coils in the back of the KJ? Looking at 'installed height' data from Moog, the potential is ~3" lift with a few different spring rates. I'm not spending $250-300 on lift springs. Hoping to see if anyone has tried before I go junkyarding.

& C please RD gods are at it, can they please recommend what springs would give a CRD fitted with an ARB winch bull bar & winch a 2" lift over standard CRD height in the front. It is probably 1 1/2" lower from the additions so a 3 1/2" lift is what is being aimed for. Alternatively what height spacer would be needed on the top of the struts?

I used Moog 81041 coils on the rear. Had to cut half a coil off the top.

Use ARB 2790 coils up front to support the weight of the bumper and winch.
For additional front lift, you can also use two or three 2" conduit nuts as a clevis spacer at the bottom of the front shock mounts.

Thanks for the tip on 4runner coils  Did you cut for length/height? Or was the pigtail wrong?

KK clevis forks are another way to get a little extra up front. ~1/2" longer than the KJ ones.

OME 790s for the front and OME shocks work best
Watch how high you lift a CRD since CVs are shorter on drivers side so can not lift as much
Have done 3 CRDs

I was bouncing my JBA UCA’s off my springs just driving on pavement with 790’s a 1/4” clevis spacer and the JBA top plate. I’ve since removed the clevis spacer. This was with an ARB and no winch.
