You guys don't have issues with oil running onto the pan under the filter while doing an oil/filter change?
2006 CRD here, and I always end up with half the contents of the filter on top of the skid.
The really annoying problem with that is that the skid is double layered steel (folded over on itself to make the 2nd layer), and half the oil gets between the 2 layers. Then it takes the next few days to drip out under the Jeep wherever I park it.
I'm thinking of using a small cut-off wheel on my angle grinder to cut a 3" slot in the skid just behind the filter in the hopes that the oil will drain down off the skid through the slot before it runs further back along the skid.
Leaving the Fumoto oil valve open for 1/2 an hour before loosening the filter doesn't purge the filter like it would on the 12 valve Cummins in my '97 Dodge.
I don't know if Jeep gassers are different, but the CRD fails this way.
And I still have to use pliers to give the tab on the Fumoto that 1/4 turn to open the valve.
