I came to realize that launching and especially retrieving the heavy boat from a steep ramp with my 06 CRD might require an extra safeguard against turning the vehicle into a submarine (the boat I purchased turned out to be heavier that expected, oh well). My plan is to install a welded front bumper with a winch. I see a lot of threads here with bunch of options, but unfortunately most of them are old and pictures are gone. I apologize in advance for asking something well-known - just kick my butt in the right direction. What I am looking for is a sensible solution for the winch in front with at least 100' long steel cable capable of pulling 5000lb (calculated worst case load). Does such thing even exist or am I crazy?

AFAIK the only front bumper with a winch mount still in production is the ARB.
