LOOKING FOR ROCK RAILS FOR MY 04 LIBERTY HOW DOES OEM COMPARE TO AFTER MARKET? |

Mopar rock rails bend easy. Go with an aftermarket rock rail that is built for abuse. I have boulder bars, they work great. Rock lizards look good too. You can find them both on this site. |

I had OEM rails. They will do for regular and light off-roading but if you get around big rocks, stumps, and big fallen trees then the aftermarket rails/sliders/bars are the choice. |

I'd still go with the aftermarket choices though.....just saying I've been lucky with my factory rails up to this point. |

Take a look at this link of the wrangler with Boulder bars after a wreck, it might help make your decision. http://www.boulderbars.com/customers_ri ... _moore.htm After seeing that ARB wreck someone posted, I'm thinking of arming up on that too. |

My personal preference is toward the Carolina Rock Shop sliders, I like the added protection of the tube slider added to the rail. Check 'em out in this thread: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 01&start=0 I ordered mine about a week ago, so no those are not installed on mine... YET. |

I agree with MUTT. Wonder if the holes will line up if I were to swap for Rock-Roads?? |

Just so you know, Rock Lizard is offering to add similar tubes to his sliders. http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/jeep_liberty.htm Rock Lizard's Skink Sliders are beefy and strong, but All J and Carolina sliders/bars look just as strong. Other options are: RRO and Super Nerfs. Visit "Troy's Toys" thread in the forum for vendors. |

The tubes are nice and make a great step for getting to the top of the Jeep, but when they are muddy, you have to be careful not to drag your pants leg across them. (I was always getting dirt on my work pants when I had that type on my XJ) Custom 4x4 Fabrication makes some really nice bars, but not for the KJ |

I'm pretty sure those don't mount to the pinch weld, only the frame box. Call them to make sure, otherwise they will tear off when you hit a rock while moving forward. BoulderBars have 17 mounting bolts per side. 10 in the frame box and 7 in the pinch weld. |
