Hi there,
I am rebuilding my EGR and my wife accidentally threw out the metal Y Connector for the EGR Hoses. Does anyone have one?

That is the best thing to do and then you don't need the "Y" connector anymore. Just plug the coolant hose coming from the head and install a straight 5/8 hose nipple where the "Y" was located. Any parts store will have one. The crappy EGR system is very bad for this engine and builds carbon sludge inside the intake.  A very good reason to get rid of it!

Hi, I was going to just replace it because I already have a new EGR valve and Provent kit. If anyone happens to have one laying around I'd really appreciate it?

If you are determined to keep the EGR system intack, the parts stores sale a 5/8 plastic "Y" barbed hose connector for heater hoses. I believe I still have the metal one I took off mine back in 2013 when I totally removed the EGR system, I will check and get back to you if I do.

A brass "T" fitting will work just as well. It moves from high pressure to low pressure either way. Fit the straight through from the EGR return hose to the hose from the water pump inlet, and the straight 'T' branch to the heater core return. No kinked hoses, and smaller installed configuration this way. Why didn't they do this from the factory? Because "special parts only available from the dealer" make for more profit is why. |
