Please help before I burn the whole thing
My KJ has 192.000 km on the dial and just recently I rebuilt the top end of my 2.8 CRD as the old rockers bearings on the exhaust side were toast. I bought new rockers on eBay, not Jeep original stuff unfortunately as I thought I could save some money here, and installed them after proper service of the whole top i.e. porting the cylinder head to get better low-end power/torque, R-seats, eliminating any warpage of the head, proper wash, etc. Normal service items as belts, pulleys, glow plugs, filters, oil and so on. Everything was supposed to be ok.
No warning lights. I assume the oil pressure was ok -have NOT checked that with a gauge though.
The engine was running perfectly fine for about 1000km and now I experience the same issues again. The rockers are toast!
I am thinking that the oil circulation to the top might be insufficient but then again - why did I not see a warning light of low oil pressure?
Another possible issue could be that the channels feeding the oil to the top are clogged? How to check this with the engine block in the engine bay?
Maybe the rockers were just poor quality?
As I am taking that cylinder head apart again - please comment on what I should check to make sure this issue is not repeating itself. I would not like to lift out the whole engine but if it is inevitable then I will do that.
Have you seen anything like this before?
Please comment - any help is appreciated
