I'm trying to remove the wheel hub, so I can replace the cv axle and lower ball joint. There's a wire going to the knuckle that I think is the abs sensor. I've removed the brass bolt holding it in, but I can't budge it. It's the only thing left between me and getting the ball & axle out. How do I remove the darned thing? I tried prying, but just took a piece of brass out instead.

Success! I drilled a 1/8" pilot hole, then put a screw in, and clamped a pair of visegrips onto the screw and pulled. And pulled. No luck. Then, I inserted a screwdriver into the jaws of the pliers and pushed against the hub for more leverage. Nope. Pounding on the screwdriver with a 3 lb. hammer didn't work either.

Finally, I used a torch and heated up the hub for about 3-4 seconds, repeated with the screwdriver, and it flew! I have the new sensor, and tomorrow I'll start putting everything back together. Whew!
