Hey guys. I got my 3” lift and just purchased some 265/70/16 duratec tires. I know the height and weight effect the Libertys power and gas mileage. I do not just want to limp by but want to invest to get the power and mileage back up. What is the process I need to do to do this? Should I be looking at the gas 4 banger gears in a junk yard or is there better way to go? Any help and advice is appreciated.

I would need a LOT more information before having any clue on what would be appropriate or desirable.

What all info do you need? I have a 3” JBA lift. 265/70r16 tires. Want better gas mileage and power that is lost with bigger tires and higher ride

4.10 gears would get you back into the stock rpm range for your speed with the 265/70’s. I have 245/75’s and they are roughly the same diameter (30.5”) and I’m wishing for 4.10’s as well. Problem is, there are no stock 4.10 diffs for the KK to swap in like there are for the KJ, which means it would be a lot more expensive.

Some other info to consider would be whether you’re in the mountains or routinely tow a heavy trailer. In those cases you might want to consider 4.56. However, the aluminum front diff on the KJ can only go to 4.10 and you’d need to find a stronger steel diff (JBA used to make them) to run deeper gears. The KK can run 4.56 with their improved front diffs.

Do you have a KJ or KK Liberty?

Well, to start with, your mention of "gas mileage" is the first indication of what engine you might have, although there are people enough that still use that same reference with their diesel vehicles.
lfhoward's inquiry (KJ or KK).
All that you listed is helpful.
Highway use?
City streets?
Country roads?
Off-roading?
Gravel?
Sand?
Mud?
Engine Mods?
Where are you located?
Where will you be wheeling?
Anything about you that would indicate your level of experience re: off-roading, wrenching, etc, things so that we make as few incorrect assumptions as possible.
Anything else that would help us know your use and expectations, what resources are close, who of us has experience in exactly what you want to know, etc.

You guys could just answer the question...

Year doesn t matter too much yet. Shop online for a ring and pinion for the Chrysler 8.25 rear axle. And Dana 30a front ( this will be harder to find...)

Year might play a roll in the master install kit (all seals and bearings)

Then find a local shop to install.
Or
Find a local shop to install and supply the parts.
