Hey guys, first time poster, long time owner!

I own 2 Jeep KJs here in Australia.

One of my transmissions blew up and I’m having trouble identifying what I can put in it.

It is a March 2003 KJ LTD with a 42RLE (must have been one of the first with it )

I want to know which 42RLE’s I can put in it, because they are often labelled at wreckers and parts places as 2001-2004, then others labelled 2004-2007 etc

That would mean I only have a one year production of my particular trans to use, because they only started putting them in in 2003, which I guess is why the second hand ones they are getting really expensive here.

But they are both 42RLE DG6 with the 305mm sump.

Or are they the same?
