I have an '05 KJ with 209K miles that I put a Frankenlift on 5+ years ago. I just had the front passenger axle replaced by the local Jeep dealership because the CV joint was failing. Jeep no longer makes the part so the dealership used an aftermarket part (O'Reilly Auto Parts, Performance AM8005). Now the axle vibrates and makes pounding noises when I accelerate while turning right and it buzzes when hitting a bump on the freeway. I took the KJ back and they replaced it a second time, but it did the same thing. They say that the new part must not have as much range of motion as the Mopar axle did.

Now I am looking for a replacement axle that can handle the geometry of a Frankenlifted KJ. Any suggestions?

Napa remanufactured is the recommended replacement, also the intermediate shaft should be replaced.

Gyro

I recently checked napa and was told not available for the crd.

Now if the inner cv is the same as a 3.7 gasser and only the overall length is different you could swap the axle shaft. Buy a oem half shaft assembly and swap axles. Those shouldn't wear.
