Hi, New to the jeep club. I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD 2.8 L Diesel, EcoTune, with deleted cat, straight pipe, EGR deleted, K&N Air Intake. I do a lot of towing with this thing, and never had a loss of power problem. Just went over 200,000 miles, on the odometer. Driving today notices that when I pressed the accelerator pedal down, the RPM was stuck at 3,000 without any movement, or power for acceleration. I also noted at times, my each light on the dash lights up at once, then goes off. I am thinking something is off with the tune now. Any experts on these tunes in Ohio? Thank you in advance, |

It is unlikely that something is wrong with the tune. If the ECM goes bad, it is usually an instantaneous no-run situation, not a series of "glitches" like a personal computer. I would start by having both the alternator and battery tested by a decent shop. A failing battery or one that is consistently running low voltage due to a bad alternator can cause all kinds of electrical issues and put the motor into limp mode (what your loss-of-power sounds like). |
