I’ve never installed an electric brake controller, always either had them already in the truck or didn’t need one. Well I think I want one for a small enclosed trailer but I have no idea what to look for or whatever.

The brake wire is behind the panel on the left in the driver's footwell. It's white with a blue stripe if I remember correctly. You'll need a positive wire. I ran mine from the power control box under the hood through a wiring grommet in the firewall. I have a Tekonsah mounted in the little cubby in front of the gearshift.

Great thanks. Did you have to cut the cubby? I was thinking of putting my egt gauge there. I want the brake controller to be easy to access tho for emergency stops

I see a blue stripe white wire but it isn’t loose end and I don’t see a label. Does it need patched into inline?

I didn't cut the cubby but I drilled two holes for an x-shaped bracket and one for the wiring. No extra room for a gauge or anything else.

The white (and blue) wire on mine was just coiled but not labeled. It's attached to the trailer plug on the back of the jeep. Mine has the tow package.

My brake wire under the driver kick panel was red and had a "Brake" label on it.

I popped off the plug with a flat screwdriver at the corner between the firewall and the side to run power/ground wires for the brake controller.

You can swing down and then slide to the left the panel under the steering wheel to get better access.
