I sent an email too since I need a set too. And I seem to remember that the WK arms have a slightly different offset.

Package with the Iron Rock control arms was delivered today.

Minus the sway bar connection, they are a drop in fit. I plan to get them installed soon. They should rub less on rocks and other debris with the over all smaller profile. They defiantly are made of much thicker material than the stock arms.

You could weld some brackets with nuts on them to the top of the control arms for the sway bar.
or weld the bolts heads to top of the arms and use nuts to secure the sway bar.
Would not be real hard to fab up either way.

No issues with then in the first hundred miles.
With the rubber bushings on both ends I was able to achieve full flex. Currently I have EMU springs and shocks with 2 extra spring isolators and 2 hockey pucks as bumpstop extensions.

I do not have the rear sway bar installed currently.
If I were to modify the control arms to add the sway bar, I would weld bolts on by the head as you suggested. It would be the cleanest option.

Thanks for trying this out and posting your results! I ran into pinion angle issues with my ome springs and any extra ISOs. This would be one way to address that if I ever - I mean when I - want to go higher. :JEEPIN:

Installing the IronRock Rear Upper Control Arm using my custom mounting bracket will also give you adjustability for pinion angle when raising the rear.
Along with the lower adjustable tracking arms that 65Covair has discovered, this would give you great adjustability for most any scenario.

Thank you for being the guinea pig on this one - I'm definitely adding this to the list of remaining modifications. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done by the end of the Summer.

Just ordered a set of the Lower Control Arms from IronRock like 65Corvair installed. (Code: 10152)
Once I have them in hand, I will engineer the best way to modify them and add the sway bar mounts to them.
After I get them modified and installed, I will share pictures and offer to modify for any others that might want a set with sway bar mountings.

Veering off into the 'thinking out loud' department for a moment: there's something with mounting the rear swaybar to the adjustable LCAs that has me wondering if it's even doable without altering the swaybar.

The stock LCAs keep the swaybar mount in a fixed location. It articulates, but relative to the wheel and swaybar, it's always in the same location on the LCA.

With the adjustable LCAs, that mount will be in a location relative to the wheels and swaybar that will change depending on how the LCAs are adjusted. This means that, potentially, the geometry of the swaybar relative to the LCA would need to change.

My only three thoughts on this are these:

  • Mount the adjustable LCA with the adjustable end towards the front, and attach the mount to the fixed end. This should keep the LCA mount in the same position relative to the swaybar and LCA. However, the fixed end also appears to be where the grease fitting is.
  • Give the swaybar adjustable links. This is way more work on the swaybar than is worth it, however, given that it's basically a single-piece unit.
  • Live dangerously and junk the rear swaybar altogether. Did this on my XJs with no ill effects, but a KJ's not an XJ so I have my reservations.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts would be to mount the fixed end of the control arm at the body end and the adjustable end on the rear axle end.
That way when you adjust the lower control arm, the sway bar would stay in the same position relative to the body.
But I certainly will research this once I have the new IronRock lower control arms in hand and bolted in.

Regardless of which way you mount them, the angle of the control arm will be fixed based on the relationship between the control arm on the body mount versus the rear axle position.
The only thing that will change the angle of the swaybar mounting is the up and down movement of the rear axle itself.
I believe there is enough clearance between the swaybar and the rear axle housing/driveshift that small changes in its mounting angle should not be a problem.
Remember, if you have the IronRock Upper control arm with my custom mount, it is adjustable as well.
So with the two of them, you will really be able to set the pinion angle to whatever you desire....

Owning a kj crd is the definition of living dangerously.:jester: I've noticed very little difference in the ride in on road use or while towing light loads (up to 2500#) with my rear swaybar removed.

The clearances are pretty tight back there, so hats off to WW for doing the engineering on this. :POPCORN:

And the fun begins,
rear lower adjustable IronRock Control Arms arrived today, they are massive and much heavier than stock arms!
First impression looks like it is going to be easy to add some sway bar mounts to them. I think I already know what to use.
I will post once I get it all figured out and welded up.

Meanwhile,
This is what they look like side by side and end to end next to the thin flimsy Mopar recall arms.
They do have the same bushing widths so it is a simple drop in replacement.
