Need to get some front tow hooks from my 04 Liberty - how are the Mopar ones?

Going with aftermarket skid plates and rock rails.

The mopar front hooks work and fit great, but they are EXPENSIVE! Unfortunately, no aftermarket hooks will fit without a reasonably severe mod (drilling frame or fabbing a bracket)

An alternative that some people choose to use is a front receiver hitch with a receiver shackle. Doesn't cost much more than the tow hooks and will give you a place to mount a portable winch or cargo tray, etc.

Or shop around and find them for less. $80 from jparts, for example:

4wheelparts.com is selling Pro comp tow hooks for 15 dollars a hook and that comes complete with hardware. Don't know if the bolt size fits the libby though.

not sure about '03-'06, but my '02 has no set bolt size. There are 2 holes on each side that the bolts go through, but it's really easy with a hand drill to expand them. Since there are no weld-nuts in the front of the jeep, only the back, you can easy bore the holes out to whatever size you need and use the nut/bolt that comes with the hooks.

If THESE are the ones you are talking about, I'm not sure they will work. The libby mount points actually sit a good bit in from the openening in the bumper. I agree that they are a GREAT value, but you're going to have to do some fabbing to get them on.[/url]

JCWhitney has 10,000lb hooks. A pair for $12.
It took me about 15 minutes...WITH NO MODIFICATIONS TO ANYTHING...to install the hooks.

I looked under the bumper and I see what you are talking about, I don't know if it would be worth it...cutting up even more of the bumper!

Elaborate?
It's as easy as installing 4 nuts and bolts.

Although I wonder why I get all these questions. .....

I did absolutely no modifications to any part of the front bumper.

It's much easier than everyone makes it out to be.

Do you have the part number by chance? Twelve bucks sounds like a good deal to me...........than I can afford to buy more parts.
