OEM roof light..am I missing anything else?

I know the switch/relay is missing.What confuses me is that some of the OEM switches have wires...

It looks like all i am missing is the switch/relay and those wires that plug in to the back of the switch..but how does all that connect to what I have in the pic below?

The guy I bought it from said he cut the black wire because he did not want pay for the switch too.

The white wire with the female connector..this attaches to what exactly

The Overhead (Roof) lights switch, relay, and wiring is not a simple circuit. See drawing below.
The light switch is also connected to the BODY CONTROL MODULE and has several inputs and output circuits.
The switch you see in the eBay link with the wiring is simply a switch that someone cut off the wiring and left them connected to the switch.
The wiring harness actually "Plugs" into the back of the LightBar Switch.

Without the proper factory wiring for the LightBar switch, it may be simpler to just wire and connect your own wiring, relay, and control switch like I did when adding additional driving LED lights. If you need more info, let me know I can post wiring information and diagrams. :wink:

The wiring schematic for the Overhead Roof lights can be viewed in the FSM in Section 8W, Page 50-16 & Page 50-17.

Yes wiring information and diagrams would help,thank you.

I am still not clear on what I am missing,other than the switch and relay.
Where can I get that wiring harness that plugs in to the switch?

I am still not sure where the ends of my wiring go.
The pic I included shows the black wire has been cut..I was told buy the seller that this connects to the switch?
The white wire with the female connector connects to what?

White is probably power and black ground. Just hook them driect to the battery to check. Reverse them if it doesnt work. But shoudlnt matter for a light...i would buy a premade wiring kit with relay and fuse if i were you since you dont have the factory wiring. You can find generic kits on eBay and amazon

The Black wire is the ground wire.
There are four (4) white wires each with a different color tracer on them as listed below.
According to Mopar and the FSM, there is NO solid white wire listed.

When looking for a premade kit,what voltage and amperage do i need?
According to the info supplied by WWDiesel,there are 3 different gauges of wire;14 18 and 20

I would use 12 or 14 for power to relay
14 or larger for relay to each light
14 for ground wires
16 or 18 for control wires from switch to relay.
Whatever you do, be sure and have 30 or 40 amp fuse in the power wire from the battery + to the relay.

Buy a wiring kit that comes with switch, relay, and wiring for fog lights and use it.

I took a much closer look(with a magnifying glass..hey,I'm nearly 50)
The wire in the pic with the female connector at end is actually white and brown

Honestly. Just get the complete wiring kit.

Hello, will anyone have this updated thread, I just got an original light bar that a 06 Renegade had, I plan to put it on my KJ 07 sport, I have the button and light harness, could you help me on how to install it if possible Using those harnesses I have, what do I need? I share some photos of the harnesses I have, the white one is the one connected to the button on the board:
