04 kj..

Looking for a replacement viscous fan. Fan and fan clutch.. mainly the fan itself. Scoured all over and all I keep finding is the electric fans, or just the viscous fan clutch. Even checked the pull-a-parts near me. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Jim

You should’ve given time for an answer first, because you may have missed the fitment mod of using a Chevy truck viscous clutch and plastic fan that pushes way more air and lasts longer.
Maybe it not too late.

Jett, can you elaborate on that? Its a somewhat popular mod to use the KJ fan on the v8 ZJ's. If there is a more popular and cheaper fan to use, the ZJ crows could use that.

Personally I cant imagine having a fan that moves more air then the mopar fan. Ive got the HD clutch on mine and it ROARS when the engine is warm. Doesnt gets over 204F now.

This is the information on the GM 11 blade conversion for the Jeep Liberty diesel.
Have no idea if it will work on Gas models. Looking at the pictures of the fan clutch on the Mopar sites, it looks like it uses the same mounting threads as the CRD fan clutches. If that is the case, the 11 blade fan and fan clutch should work on your 04 Liberty?

It turns out, the Chevy/GMC trucks years 1996 through 2007 HD fan and fan clutch with factory installed towing package are a direct replacement for our Jeep Liberty CRD and the prices for the GM parts are a lot less expensive than having to buy genuine Mopar parts to get the HD Liberty Gas burner cooling fan and clutch that some on LOST have suggested to use…

These are the part no.s
GM Severe Duty Fan Clutch NAPA PN: 271625
GM 11 blade HD Cooling Fan NAPA PN: 8552223
GM 11 blade fan requires four(4) GM PN: 11516869 bolts, they have different threads and are a bit larger. (bolts to attach fan to fan clutch)

Hayden Fan Clutch for GM is: HY PN: 2986
Four Seasons Fan Clutch for GM is: PN: FS46023 (almost identical to GM OEM fan)

Fan Part No. Interchange
Dorman-620-602
GM-15976889 / GM-3112109 Replaces Original (OE) PN:15976889

The Four Seasons is designed for the GM Truck w/HD Factory Towing Package
A little research shows Hayden and Four Seasons are the same company. (Made in the USA, Texas)
part number converted to Napa Part is: 271625.

Yep that’s the one^^^^^. I ended up getting a Murray clutch that crossed over to the Napa part at autozone, and it was cheaper 55$
The 11 blade fan came from Napa 45$. It’s WAY more air moving than the flex fan. You can tell by looking at it and listening.
