Has anyone installed a led light bar and/or ditch lights in their kJ? If so, what brackets did you use???

4WheelParts list several mounting brackets for the Jeep KJ for both locations.

CARiD.com also list a lot of different mounting brackets for Jeeps.

Maybe you can find something that fits your needs....
:D

I’ve looked there but most stuff is universal mount/fitment. Can’t seem to find any kJ specific mounts....

AtTheHelm Fabrication makes some nice ditch light brackets for the KK but no reason they wouldn’t work on the KJ as well.

Seems to me there’s a few other options too: renegade light bar (not a fan), and tj Jeep bumper bar. I’ve seen a few pics online, but has anyone done the tj bumper light bar?

Lots of times, universal can be slightly modified to fit our KJ vehicles. There are quite a few items on my Jeep that were not specifically made for it, but was able to modify them to allow the fitment and make them work. Redneck engineering at its finest.... :ROTFL:

I was thinking about a brush guard for light mounts, but wasn’t happy with loosing tow hooks.?looks like you solved that. Can you talk about the brush guard you have?

Glad to help, It is this one:> Black Horse 2002 2007 Jeep Liberty Black Grille Brush Guard 17EH26MA
You can find them online at Amazon, eBay, and many other vendors, they are not overly pricey like some you find listed.
It has been on my Jeep since 2013 and had zero problems with it.
It also provides a great place to mount driving lights and light bars as shown in the picture below.
I did modify the mounts a little to the tube frame to make it a little stronger.
I drilled and mounted the tow hooks myself afterwards, it did not come with them. :D
I opted not to install the brush guards over the headlights, did not really like them impeding any light flow.

Looks like it may affect ground clearance with that lower crossbar, is that the case? Also how does the guard attach to the frame at the toe hook mount points? And do you think the guard is beefy enough to take a tow at those points?

No clearance issues with the lower bar, it is still way above bottom of bumper right below tag mount.
Guard attaches to the tube frame, but again, I modified mine to make the mount stronger.
I very rarely leave anything "as is", I like redesigning to suit my needs.
My hooks are certainly strong enough for any normal tow, but snatching real hard using a big kinetic rope could very well be a little much for them. I have never tested it as I have never had it stuck.
