Does anyone know if it’s possible to upgrade the select trac tc?

I'm wondering what you don't like about the NV242 Select-Trac ?

Yes. Dodge trucks and suvs came with the 242hd. I believe some parts will swap. Such as the wider (stronger) chain.
Googke. But people have been doing this on jeep xj so and wj I believe

Ok. So thanks for making me aware of the 242hd.

What I’ve found out: The 45rfe trans early kjs probably have the best bet at getting an upgraded 242 select trac with a swap from a 01-03 gc wj 4.7 v8 - they share the same trans. Those np242hd come with a wider chain and sprockets and a longer input shaft but otherwise has the same output splines ats the kJ np242 at 32 teeth. So basically the kJ 242 is an upgraded select trac from the gc 4.0 but isn’t as stout as the hd units. Not sure it’s worth the upgrade considering swap problems like linkage and selector positions etc. but! It’s a fun idea!!!
