Hello everyone! I'm new here. I have a question regarding a recent oil change issue..

I just moved and went to a nearby repair shop for an oil change, got everything i needed, oil, fuel & oil filters. All went well until the mechanic was done and it was time to start up.. Didn't happen. I tried several times, it was making the sound but not starting ..I didn't crank for more than 10 sec at a time ( I know that much..)

The guy changed the fuel filter pipes around, not sure if he thought he put them back wrong or what, but still nothing. They said there's probably air trapped in. At this point i was thinking they messed up something, because the car worked perfectly fine before and this is a simple oil change..
Not sure how the air got in the system, never happened before.
He released some valves in the fuel injector (i think that's what he said..), fuel started to come in and then it started up after another attempt or so..

It all seems fine now, but i'm a little concerned
Any idea if there can be any engine damage?

I drove about 100 miles since. I have very low mileage and the engine is in top shape so I wouldn't want anything to happen because of an oil change.

Any thoughts are appreciated!
Thank you!
My car is a Jeep KJ 2003, 2.8 CRD 4x4 Diesel, 150hp

Welcome to the group from Australia!
He did not initially bleed the air out of the new fuel filter. There is a hand pump on the filter & a bleed nipple there. Common problem with diesels. Nothing to loose sleepover. He clearly is not familiar with diesels like this one. Would be good if you read the guide for new members. There is a lot of good information about this diesel jeep.
Good luck with your jeep!

Thank you all for your replies! Stuff like this stresses me out.. I'll be sure to look for another garage for my next oil change, but at least i don't have to worry it could've affected the engine in the long run :D
