I've recently had a door lock problem pop up (or not pop up). Girlfriend used the Jeep recently and told me that my door locks were not working. Never happened to me so I didn't worry about it, until I did. Now I see what was happening. The symptom is the same if I use the remote, drivers door lock switch or passenger door lock switch. Battery has full charge. The first time you hit the switch to lock or unlock, the doors work fine. But, If you do it a few times in a row the locks get sluggish (as if the battery were low) and then stop working all together. Wait a while and it will work fine again (the first time). When I press the switch I can hear a click from the Body Control Module, even if the door locks are not working. Keep in mind that this only happens with the 4 passenger doors. The rear door works perfectly every time. I've been looking online, but all I've found is that door locks are controlled by the Body Control Module. I noticed there are relays on the module, but I cannot find any diagram showing which relay controls the door locks. I'd really like to try and replace the relay before replacing the module. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the wiring diagrams in the FSM for 2005? It covers all the door lock wiring in detail in Section 8W, starting on page 61-1.
There are 3 relays for the door locks on the fuse panel on the left side of the dash. See color coded drawing enclosed.

All the FSM (Factory Service Manuals) are available online for viewing and downloading at:> Index of /manuals/Jeep/KJ

Click on: 2005JeepKJServiceManual.pdf to view manual.

WWDiesel Thanks so much! I've been working on this thing for years without this manual. This will be a HUGE help!
