Firstly, I am new to this Forum and apologies for the long thread.
I have a Jeep KJ Liberty 2007 3.7L Automatic, Petrol with Cruise / Speed Control (but I have a suspicion it may be a 2006 and registered new in 2007 but have no evidence of this).
I work in Egypt and am having problems with the ECU (amongst other things with this vehicle). Let me try to explain.
I have been told by a mechanic here that the ECU is not the correct model for the car and the cruise/speed control will not work with this ECU.
I have interrogated the ECU with my OBDII scanner from TOPDON (ArtiDiag Pro) and it tells me the VIN number stored inside the ECU does not match the car, which confirmed the mechanic was right.
The number of the ECU currently in the car is 05094 939AD Sequence No.380490 whatever these numbers mean and the mechanic tells me I need P56052 803AA which I have no way of telling if this is right or wrong or how the mechanic came to this conclusion as he only has the same information as I have.
Does somebody have a similar vehicle and could give me their ECU model number so perhaps I could get closer to acquiring a second hand unit.
Unfortunately there is no Jeep dealerships here that I can find so no help there. And if I do an internet search on the VIN number of my car nobody recognises it, as it's an Egyptian VIN number I expect?
And to add to injury this vehicle is a CKD (complete knock down) which means it came new to Egypt disassembled in box form and put together here to avoid import tax I presume.

I still have some DTC's that need fixing, namely - C1219, C123F, C2102 and 2 faults saying the same description
- Passenger Squib 2 / Open Circuit. Airbag light comes on and off randomly.
Can the current ECU in the car be reprogrammed and can this be done remotely via internet or flash file or something?
The car runs sort of ok but the cruise/speed control does not work, the ABS does not work which may be down to the ECU but I have a new full set of ABS sensors for the wheels which I need to install to dismiss this as part of the problem
If anyone can help and needs anymore info I am happy to provide if I have it.
Any help on any issues mentioned above would be highly appreciated.
