So, it seems the charge air cooler of my 2005 KJ CRD has to be replaced. Went looking for the part number but couldn't find it. Can anyone here help me out?
Also, I'm not a mechanic, is the intercooler the same unit but just a different name?

Thanks in advance

Yes the charge air is called the intercooler. Unfortunately, they no longer made and unless you can find one from either overseas or new old stock, you going to have to find someone that is parting it out a CRD Liberty.

Part number: 5143020AA, 52079700AA, or 52079700AB

What is wrong with it? If it iso leaking at the the "Hot side inlet" (as you look at it from the front of the jeep it will be on the left coming from the turbo). you might be able to repair it. Its a common place for it to crack where the fins ana plastic end tank meet. Clean it up the area really good with some acetone or brake cleaner, let dry and flow some JB weld into the areas and let cure.

In addition, are you sure its not any of the hoses that are leaking?

Unfortunately it's not the hose.
I've found one from a scrap yard but I was thinking maybe a unit from a Dodge Nitro would fit. Afaik it's basically the same car right?

Do you have the 3.7L gas engine or the 2.8L CRD diesel engine?

3.7L gas engine was in both the Nitro and Liberty but did not come with a turbo, therefore no intercooler needed.
The 2.8L CRD diesel engine was only in the Jeep Liberty for years 2005-2006 as a turbo 4cyl diesel engine and needs an intercooler (aka CAC).
